Pack Rat Mining is a family owned gold mining venture. Or maybe it is adventure? Either way, the journey started in the depression era with my grandfather. He worked as a miner in the Azurite Mine in the Slate Creek District. Fast forward to 1950 and my grandfather, Walter Gourlie, obtained the Keystone and Tacoma mines, renaming them Golden Arrow 1 and 2.
The family successfully mined these claims for many years until the tragic passing of Grandpa Walter. Fast forward once again and we have added the patented claims of the historic Chancellor Mining Company. The venture (adventure) is still family run and could not be more fun.
